Downtown Hinton is much as it was over 100 years ago. The old windmill has been replaced with a new marquee and many of the old buildings have been replaced with new shops, but the spirit of what was is alive and well in this special town nestled just minutes from I-40 on Highway 281.

Hinton is located just South of Interstate 40 off Exit 101. With Sugar Creek Golf Course – a premier 18-hole course, Sugar Creek Casino, an airport complete with rental gliders, Red Rock Canyon State Park, Canyon Camp and Conference Center, 2 historical museums, various parks and the foremost in sports venues – Hinton, Oklahoma might be the Nation's best-kept secret.

Come for the fun – stay for the people. Whether you are passing through and stop at one of our 3 gas stations for a quick fill-up and bite to eat or staying at one of our 2 hotels – or at Red Rock – you will instantly recognize hometown people – eager to help, always friendly.

 Article on Windsor Property

In October 2013 an Ordinance was passed requiring all structures in the Town of Hinton to be numbered. This was done in response to E911 addressing and concerns from our First Responders because they were having difficulty identifying addresses when responding to calls. Notice of this requirement was provided in the newspaper and other ways in November 2013. Recently, the Town has taken the initiative to place numbers on structures that are not numbered. However, some structures were mistakenly numbered even when the correct address was on the mail box or curb (which is sufficient according to the Ordinance). The Town of Hinton apologizes for any confusion or aggravation this may have caused; we will correct the issue where we unnecessarily installed numbers on the front of homes where the correct address was present on the mail box or curb. If this affects you, or if you have any questions pertaining to this, please call Town Hall at 405-542-3253

The Town of Hinton now takes debit/credit card payments online or at Town Halln Hall! We can also set you up for auto-draft from your checking or savings account!
