The parks and recreation department cares for the maintenance of the Walking Trail, Veterans Memorial, Kiwanis Park, Senior Citizens Building and the Fair.
Hinton Fact!
On July 27, 1939 Hinton Kiwanis purchased the canyon a mile south of town from the Gerdes family and began using the proceeds of the rodeo to convert it into a pleasant place for the people of the community also known as Red Rock Canyon (in 1955.)
